CAREFUL the water is cold and deep-10 feet or 3m at the landing and swimming is permitted – maybe skin divers can test their equipment there – a ladder facilitates getting out of the water.
Building is built from Mt Gambier limestone and is double glazed -makes for a very quiet stay.
What the “Fly Fishing Lodge” is aimed at is fishing with flies only (a catch and release ) because of the expense and effort to grow them to big size it is no good to have them eaten- We now have other ponds where fish can be caught to be eaten. 3 lakes of about an acre are for fishing and some of this water is used for irrigation for our 800 dairy cows.
Lakes are dug into limestone and sealed to hold pristine quality water-banks are solid and not slippery and a minimum of obstacles to tangle your fly.
Bring your own fly rod and gear -we have limited gear for beginners to tie their own flies .
We are located on a working family dairy farm where we with4 or so employees milk up to 800 holstein cows- tours of the dairy can be arranged subject to time and what is happening.
